Binan Tatak Gel stayed on its winning track after overpowering Marikina, 103-73, on Monday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2026 Season at the One Arena in Cainta, Rizal.

The surging squad showcased its offensive strength, building a commanding 40-point advantage at 96-56 before cruising to its sixth consecutive victory. The win improved Binan’s record to 9-3 in the round-robin elimination stage of the 28-team, two-division tournament.

Carlo Lastimosa led the charge with 21 points and two rebounds in just over 12 minutes of play, earning Best Player of the Game honors. He outshined teammates Nic Cabanero, who posted 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals, and Warren Bonifacio, who contributed 15 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists.

Binan’s accuracy from beyond the arc played a major role in the lopsided win. Lastimosa drained three of his four attempts from long range, while Bam Lopez, Ronnie Alonte, and Ryan Sual also connected from deep. Overall, Binan shot an efficient 9-of-20 (45 percent) from three-point territory, compared to Marikina’s 4-of-20 (20 percent).

The Shoemasters dropped to a 4-8 record despite efforts from JR Alabanza, who tallied 15 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, and Ed Daquioag, who added 13 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.

In the second game, Zamboanga SiKat continued its resurgence with a 102-92 triumph over Imus.

Reggz Gabat powered Zamboanga with 25 points, including 14 in the final quarter, helping his team withstand a late Imus comeback. The Yangkees narrowed the gap to 99-92 with 1:14 left, but failed to score again as Zamboanga sealed its third straight victory and improved to 4-7.

Gabat also recorded seven rebounds and two assists, earning Best Player honors ahead of Levi Hernandez, who finished with 24 points and four rebounds, and Pamboy Raymundo, who chipped in 13 points, four rebounds, and three steals.

Imus absorbed its seventh consecutive defeat and slipped to 2-9, despite solid performances from Joseph Mark Marquez, who produced 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals, and Jordan Rios, who added 21 points and nine rebounds.
