The Philippine Men’s National Football Team wrapped up its preparations for the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup in emphatic fashion, cruising to a 5-1 victory over Myanmar in the final match of the PFF Tri-Nation Friendlies on Tuesday.

Cheered on by 4,662 fans at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, the Filipinos finally broke through just before halftime. Jeff Tabinas found the back of the net in first-half stoppage time (45+1), finishing a low cross from Andre Leipold to hand the hosts a deserved 1-0 lead.

The Philippines wasted little time extending its advantage after the break. In the 54th minute, Paul Tabinas joined his brother on the scoresheet, converting from inside the area to make it 2-0 and tighten the home side’s grip on the match.

With momentum firmly on their side, the Filipinos continued to press forward and were rewarded with more goals late in the contest.

Coming off the bench, Sebastian Rasmussen made an immediate impact, scoring twice with clinical finishes in the 81st and 90+1 minutes. Leipold, who provided the opening assist, also capped an impressive outing by scoring in the 88th minute.

Myanmar managed a consolation goal through Win Naing Tun in the 82nd minute, but it was not enough to slow down a Philippine side that controlled proceedings from start to finish.

The two teams will meet again next month when the Philippines hosts Myanmar on July 28 in the opening match of its 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup campaign.
