South Korea capped a perfect campaign in the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup by sweeping Chinese Taipei 25-19, 25-19, 25-22 in the final on Sunday night at the Candon City Arena, securing the championship with an unbeaten record.

The victory marked a strong resurgence for the Koreans after their relegation from the Volleyball Nations League last year. They reclaimed their status among Asia’s top teams with a commanding performance throughout the tournament.

Tournament MVP Kang Sowhi led South Korea with 14 points from 13 attacks and one block, while Na Hyunsoo added 12 points. Jeong Yunju contributed 11, and Park Eunjin and Lee Juah chipped in eight and seven points respectively.

South Korea controlled the match from start to finish, out-attacking Chinese Taipei 46-38 and forcing 19 errors while committing just 12 of their own. This efficient showing was a clear step up from their earlier five-set battle against the same opponent in the group stage.

After the match, Kang reflected on the team’s journey: “First of all, the national team had very hard moments, but with all the members here, I’m really happy that we were able to achieve this very meaningful and valuable result today.”

Chinese Taipei earned silver in their best-ever finish at the continental tournament. Chang Yichi paced the team with 16 points, while Tsai Yuchun added 14 and was named Best Outside Hitter. Middle blocker Chen Ciaoen contributed eight points, including six blocks.

Other Dream Team honorees included Chinese Taipei libero Lin Chijung (Best Libero) and Vietnam’s setter Vo Thi Kim Thoa (Best Setter).

In the bronze medal match, Vietnam recovered from their semifinal loss by dominating Kazakhstan 25-17, 25-12, 25-19 to finish third. Indonesia placed fifth after defeating Australia 25-13, 25-19, 26-24.
