Laure, Solomon named to 2026 SEA V Cup Dream Team

Eya Laure and Alyssa Solomon were named to the 2026 SEA V Cup Dream Team after playing key roles in Alas Pilipinas’ historic silver-medal finish in the tournament’s second leg on Sunday at Chiang Mai Stadium in Thailand.

Laure earned Best Outside Hitter honors for the first time in the regional competition, while Solomon was named Best Opposite Spiker for the second consecutive leg and fourth time overall.

Solomon also received the award during the opening leg in Vietnam, where the Philippines finished outside the podium.

Laure led Alas Pilipinas in scoring during the second leg with 44 points, good for third overall. She narrowly missed the tournament scoring lead, which was shared by Vietnam’s Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Pham Quynh Huong with 45 points each.

The Choco Mucho star opened the second leg with five points in the Philippines’ loss to Thailand before bouncing back with 22 points in the team’s victory over Vietnam.

She followed that performance with 17 points against Indonesia as Alas secured its historic silver medal.

Solomon finished fourth among the tournament’s leading scorers with 42 points.

The former National University standout managed just six points against eventual champion Thailand but responded with 17 points against Vietnam and 19 in the Philippines’ four-set victory over Indonesia.

Thailand’s Sasipapron Janthawisut was again named Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter, earning both awards for the second consecutive leg.

Thai teammates Pornpun Guedpard and Thatdao Nuekjang were also selected to the Dream Team, with Guedpard winning Best Setter and Nuekjang taking one of the two Best Middle Blocker awards.

Vietnam’s Tran Thi Bich Thuy received the other Best Middle Blocker citation, while Indonesia’s Indah Guretno was named Best Libero.
