Tropang 5G seek revenge against Giant Risers, Beermen face Giant Pandas

TNT and San Miguel Beer will look to regain momentum when they headline the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Governors' Cup action on Friday at the Ynares Center II in Montalban, Rizal.

The Tropang 5G open the doubleheader against Titan Ultra at 5:15 p.m., while the Beermen take on guest team Macau in the 7:30 p.m. matchup.

TNT enters the game looking to bounce back from a narrow 88-83 defeat to NLEX last Tuesday, a loss that ended its two-game winning streak and allowed the Road Warriors to remain unbeaten at the time.

Despite the setback, the defending conference champions remain in third place in Group A with a 3-3 record and have a chance to move above .500 with a victory.

However, the matchup carries added motivation for TNT as it faces Titan Ultra, the team that handed the Tropang 5G a 103-87 defeat in their first meeting on July 22.

Titan Ultra, meanwhile, comes in with renewed confidence after escaping Macau, 132-128, in its previous outing. The Giant Risers currently hold a 2-5 record in the group standings.

According to Tiger Score, TNT enters as the favorite with a 1.36 moneyline, while Titan Ultra is listed at 2.92.

San Miguel Beer will also aim to build on its recent victory when it battles Macau in the nightcap.

The Beermen improved to 5-2 after defeating Converge, 126-114, last Wednesday, but they have struggled to maintain consistency after opening the tournament with three consecutive wins.

San Miguel has won just two of its last four games and hopes its victory over the FiberXers marks the beginning of another strong run.

The Beermen previously defeated Macau, 123-109, in their first-round meeting, but the Giant Pandas have since gained momentum with back-to-back wins over Titan Ultra and Terrafirma before their loss to the Giant Risers.

San Miguel is heavily favored by Tiger Score at 1.22, while Macau is listed at 3.94.
