PBA postpones Fuel Masters-Elasto Painters, Gin Kings-Bossing doubleheader due to weather
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has postponed its scheduled doubleheader on Sunday, August 9, due to severe weather conditions affecting Metro Manila and other parts of the country.
The games were originally set to take place at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, featuring Phoenix Super LPG against Rain or Shine in the opening matchup, followed by Barangay Ginebra’s clash with Blackwater.
In its announcement, the league cited the safety of fans, players, officials, and staff as the primary reason behind the postponement.
The PBA said the new schedule for the two games will be announced through its official channels.
The league also reminded everyone to remain cautious and prioritize safety as the inclement weather continues.
The postponement came a day after the PBA proceeded with its Saturday schedule at the Ynares Center II in Montalban despite heavy rains. San Miguel defeated Macau, 131-79, after the game was delayed twice early in the first quarter due to a roof leak.
