Veteran guard Juami Tiongson is returning to familiar territory after Terrafirma reacquired the former franchise cornerstone in a trade with San Miguel Beer.

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) announced on Wednesday that the Beermen have traded Tiongson, rookie guard Chris Miller, and a second-round pick in the Season 52 Rookie Draft to Terrafirma in exchange for high-scoring guard Jerrick Ahanmisi and sophomore playmaker Paolo Hernandez.

The move reunites Tiongson with the team where he enjoyed the most productive years of his PBA career. The 35-year-old Ateneo alumnus played for Terrafirma from 2019 to 2024, emerging as one of the league’s most reliable backcourt scorers. He was later traded to San Miguel alongside Andreas Cahilig in a deal that sent Vic Manuel and Terrence Romeo to the Dyip.

Tiongson’s role diminished during his time with the Beermen, particularly in the previous conference, where he averaged just 2.25 points and 1.0 assist over 12 games.

While Terrafirma welcomes back a proven contributor, San Miguel strengthens its backcourt with Ahanmisi, who has revived his career since joining the Dyip.

Ahanmisi came to Terrafirma in August 2025 after a trade with Magnolia involving Javi Gomez de Liaño. He quickly became one of the team’s main offensive weapons and earned a spot in the Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 men’s national team pool. The 25-year-old guard averaged 21.25 points, 3.0 rebounds, and shot nearly 35 percent from three-point range in the last conference.

Joining Ahanmisi in San Miguel is Paolo Hernandez, a 6-foot-3 guard from Mapúa University who averaged 9.8 points per game last season and is viewed as a promising young asset for the Beermen.

Meanwhile, Chris Miller heads to Terrafirma after limited playing time during his rookie season with San Miguel.
