Jayson Castro Enters Exclusive 10,000-Point Club
Jayson Castro reached a major career milestone on Wednesday night, officially joining the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) elite 10,000-point club during TNT’s do-or-die quarterfinal clash with NLEX in the Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The veteran guard hit the historic mark midway through the third quarter, sinking the first of two free throws with 3:25 remaining to etch his name deeper into league history.
At 39 years old, Castro continues to cement his legacy as one of the PBA’s most accomplished and enduring playmakers, remaining a crucial contributor to TNT’s playoff push.
With this achievement, Castro became only the 18th player in league history to surpass 10,000 career points, placing him among a rarefied group of icons. He is also just the 17th Filipino player to reach the milestone, highlighting the feat’s rarity among homegrown talent.
Castro now joins a distinguished list that includes legends such as Ramon Fernandez, Alvin Patrimonio, Norman Black, James Yap, and Mark Caguioa, further underscoring his sustained excellence throughout his career. He is also the most recent addition to the club since Arwind Santos reached the milestone in 2022, adding another remarkable chapter to a storied PBA career.
