The Quezon Huskers continued their flawless campaign in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2026 Season, dismantling the Sarangani 10ACT Marlins on Monday at One Arena Cainta in Rizal Province.

Showcasing their depth and firepower, the Huskers saw 14 of their 15 players contribute on the scoreboard. They stormed to a 17-2 advantage midway through the first quarter and never eased up, building a massive 35-point cushion, 69-34, before securing their eighth consecutive victory in the round-robin elimination stage of the 28-team, two-division tournament.

The defending two-time South Division champions improved to 8-0, remaining one of the league’s top contenders. They trail only Caloocan and GenSan, which both hold unbeaten 10-0 records, in the race for playoff seeding.

Judel Fuentes paced the balanced offensive effort with 12 points and five rebounds. Cedric Manzano contributed 10 points and eight rebounds, while Michael Canete added 10 points and six boards. John Abate also finished with 10 points and four rebounds.

Quezon controlled the game inside, outrebounding Sarangani 46-22 and converting that dominance into a commanding 46-16 advantage in points in the paint.

The Huskers also found success from long range, hitting 11 of 25 attempts from beyond the arc for a solid 44 percent clip. Tabi buried both of his three-point tries, while Canete knocked down two of his three attempts. Sarangani, meanwhile, struggled to keep pace, making only 8 of 26 shots from deep for 30.8 percent.

The loss was the ninth in a row for the Marlins, who slipped to 1-9. Despite the defeat, local standout CJ Tan provided a bright spot with a game-high 16 points.

MPBL action resumes Tuesday at One Arena Cainta with a triple-header featuring Bulacan versus Zamboanga at 4 p.m., Batangas against Mindoro at 6 p.m., and Biñan taking on Iloilo at 8 p.m.
