Biñan Tatak Gel and Pasay made a strong recovery on Thursday in the 2026 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season, picking up impressive victories during the round-robin elimination phase at the Pasay Astrodome.

Biñan rallied from a narrow deficit to finish strong in the fourth quarter, securing a 75-63 win over Quezon City. Meanwhile, Pasay dominated from start to finish, cruising to an 83-48 victory against Parañaque, bouncing back from their opening-game losses.

Carlo Lastimosa sparked Biñan’s comeback after they trailed 49-58, leading the charge with a key surge that ultimately turned the game in their favor. Lastimosa ended with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Nic Cabanero chipped in 13 points and two rebounds. Kenny Roger Rocacurva also made significant contributions, finishing with 11 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and three assists.

Quezon City, now at 0-2, saw a strong performance from MJ Joson, who posted 15 points, five rebounds, and eight steals, while Brian Rosalin added 11 points and three rebounds.

Christian Fajarito led Pasay with 12 points and two rebounds, supported by Steve Nash Enriquez and Leonard Santiago, who each tallied 11 points.

For Parañaque, Paolo Castro was the team’s top scorer with nine points in the loss.

The tournament moves to the One Arena in Cainta on Friday, with games scheduled between Gensan and Mindoro at 4 p.m., Bulacan versus Batangas at 6 p.m., and Meycauayan taking on Manila at 8 p.m.
