Zamboanga cruises past Bacolod, Imus tops Manila
Zamboanga SiKat returned to the win column in emphatic fashion after dismantling Bacolod, 117-80, in the 2026 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) South Division on Saturday at the Olivarez College Gym in Parañaque.
Inand Van Fornilos paced the balanced attack with 18 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Former University of Santo Tomas standout Forthsky Padrigao nearly posted a double-double, tallying 13 points, 12 assists, two rebounds, and two steals, while Brandon Wilson added 13 points and nine rebounds.
Levi Hernandez chipped in 12 points and two assists, and Michael Are contributed 11 points, seven assists, and two rebounds as Zamboanga pulled away early and built a commanding 103-55 lead before completing the 37-point rout.
The victory lifted SiKat to 5-9, while Bacolod fell to 3-14.
Desmond Price led the MassKara side with 24 points, while Marjun Wahing added 16. Rafael Go contributed 15 points and eight rebounds in the losing effort.
In the nightcap, Imus Yangkee defeated Manila Batang Quiapo, 74-64, behind the strong performances of Noel Santos and Dylan Darbin.
Santos recorded a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds to go along with two assists and two steals, while Darbin added 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists as Imus secured the victory.
Manila slipped to 2-13 despite a game-high 25 points and six rebounds from Mark Doligon. Ivann Salinel also scored in double figures with 10 points, three rebounds, and two steals.
MPBL action resumes on Monday at the Paco Arena in Manila, where Pasay faces Ilagan Isabela at 4 p.m., Caloocan takes on Parañaque at 6 p.m., and Cebu squares off against Quezon City at 8 p.m.
