TNT Tropang 5G and Barangay Ginebra will face off in a decisive Game 7 of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Commissioner's Cup Finals tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

After splitting the first six games of what has been a highly competitive series, both teams will battle for the championship in another winner-take-all matchup between the long-time rivals.

TNT took a 3-3 series lead after edging Ginebra, 98-90, in Game 6. The contest was highlighted by a historic scoring duel between imports Chris McCullough and Justin Brownlee, who both scored over 50 points. McCullough finished with a career-high 53 points and 22 rebounds, while Brownlee tallied 52 points. They became the first opposing imports to each score 50 points in a PBA Finals game since 1989.

Despite Brownlee’s heroic effort, TNT’s stronger supporting cast and McCullough’s dominant finish proved decisive in sending the series to Game 7.

Adding another layer to the highly anticipated finale is the ongoing tension surrounding the officiating. Both head coaches, Tim Cone of Ginebra and Chot Reyes of TNT, have publicly expressed frustration with the referees throughout the series. Cone recently pushed back against the narrative that Ginebra has been “favored by the refs,” calling the situation “crazy.”

As they prepare for the decisive game, TNT is looking to complete a comeback similar to last season’s Commissioner's Cup Finals, where they overcame a 3-2 deficit to win in Game 7. Coach Chot Reyes emphasized the team’s mindset, noting that they have focused on playing their best basketball over the final two games.

On the other side, Ginebra is determined to avoid repeating history and secure their first title since the 2023 Commissioner's Cup. Coach Tim Cone expressed confidence in his team’s chances heading into the winner-take-all matchup.

According to betting odds, Ginebra enters Game 7 as slight favorites.

The highly anticipated Game 7 is expected to draw a large crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena, capping what has already been one of the most memorable PBA Finals series in recent years.
