The Meralco Bolts have replaced import Ismael Romero with Marvin Jones for the upcoming PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup. Team manager Paolo Trillo confirmed the change on March 7, stating the team will field Jones for the conference beginning March 11.

Marvin Jones, a 32-year-old center, went undrafted in the NBA in 2017 and has since played professionally in several European countries, including Greece, Slovenia, and Spain, winning a FIBAEuropeCup. This will be his first stint in the Philippines.

Trillo explained the decision, noting that Jones provides a shot-blocking presence the team sought. He is expected to complement the local core of CJ Cansino, Chris Newsome, and Bong Quinto. Regarding Romero, who was the team's reinforcement in the East Asia Super League, Trillo stated, "We just felt it was time for him and for us not to line him up this conference."
