Maguliano Leads Golden Coolers Past Black Bulls in Key MPBL Win
Rizal XentroMall’s Golden Coolers leaned on a fast start and a comfortable lead to defeat the Quezon City Black Bulls, 90-80, on Wednesday at the One Arena in Cainta, Rizal. The win improved their Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2026 record to 7-6.
JP Maguliano was the standout performer, finishing with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds to earn Best Player of the Game honors. Mark Yee provided strong support with 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Billy Robles delivered a well-rounded effort of 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Jolo Mendoza added 11 points, and AJ Coronel chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.
The Golden Coolers seized control early and maintained their advantage for the rest of the game, using their cushion to hold off Quezon City’s attempts to mount a comeback.
Kobe Monje led the Black Bulls with 18 points and six rebounds, while Rey Publico contributed 11 points. The loss dropped Quezon City to 7-6.
MPBL action resumes on Thursday at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum, with San Juan facing Pasig at 4 p.m., Marikina taking on Quezon Province at 6 p.m., and host Batangas battling Sarangani at 8 p.m.
