Rain or Shine put on an explosive shooting display, raining down 22 three-pointers to defeat Terrafirma, 124-117, and extend their winning streak to seven games in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Elasto Painters were unstoppable from beyond the arc, including a four-point play, marking one of the highest three-point outputs in league history. Despite the dominant shooting performance, head coach Yeng Guiao highlighted areas for improvement on defense.

“We’re happy with the win, but giving up that many points isn’t ideal,” Guiao said. “Still, when the outside shots are falling like that, it gives us a big advantage.”

Anton Asistio was the standout performer, delivering 18 points off the bench, including a scoring burst in the second quarter where he hit multiple triples and converted a four-point play.

Rain or Shine’s depth was evident, as several players contributed to the scoring barrage. Jaylen Johnson, Jun Roque, and Deo Cuajao each hit three three-pointers, while Adrian Nocum, Leo Santillan, Caelan Tiongson, and Beau Belga added two apiece.

The game was close early on, with Terrafirma holding a slight lead after the first quarter. However, the Elasto Painters took control in the second period with a scorching run that quickly widened the gap. By halftime, Rain or Shine had built a lead of more than 20 points, maintaining their advantage through the third quarter, even as Guiao rotated his bench.

Terrafirma, led by Mubashar Ali, mounted a late rally in the fourth quarter, but the early deficit proved too difficult to overcome, as the Dyip suffered their fourth straight loss.

The win further cemented Rain or Shine’s spot at the top of the standings, while Terrafirma’s slide continues after a promising start to their campaign.
