The victory keeps UdeC near the top of the table, while Azul Y Rojo suffered their second straight defeat despite a spirited effort in the fourth quarter.

First Half: UdeC Controls Tempo

Universidad Concepcion established a 10-point lead by halftime thanks to sharp shooting from guard Camila Rojas (18 points, 5 assists) and strong interior defense from forward Valentina Muñoz (12 points, 11 rebounds). Azul Y Rojo struggled to find consistent offense, shooting just 32% in the first two quarters. However, they stayed within striking distance thanks to the efforts of their center Ana Gutiérrez (16 points, 9 rebounds), who battled hard against UdeC's frontline.

Fourth-Quarter Push Not Enough

Azul Y Rojo came alive in the final period, using full-court pressure to force turnovers and cut the deficit to three points with 3:30 remaining. But UdeC called a timeout and responded with a 7-0 run, capped by a Rojas three-pointer. The home side managed only two points in the final two minutes as UdeC's defense tightened. Point guard María Ibarra sealed the game with four clutch free throws, finishing with 14 points and 6 assists.

With the win, Universidad Concepcion improves to 5-2, while Azul Y Rojo falls to 3-4. UdeC will look to build momentum when they host Santiago Morning next week.
