What Might Mbappé Miss Out On? Five Matches Kylian Mbappé May Not Play Due to a Knee Injury
Real Madrid fans received news on Wednesday that star forward Kylian Mbappé has sustained a knee injury, ruling him out of action for several weeks. The injury occurred despite Mbappé participating in a public training session the previous day without showing any visible signs of discomfort.
The club and its medical team confirmed in an official statement that the player has suffered a sprain in his left knee. As a result, Mbappé will be unavailable for Real Madrid's upcoming fixtures.
His absence will begin with the LaLiga match against Real Betis on Sunday, January 4, which is the team's first game of the new year 2026. Furthermore, he will miss the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Atlético Madrid scheduled for Thursday, January 8, complicating Real Madrid's preparations for this crucial Madrid derby.
Should Real Madrid advance past Atlético Madrid, Mbappé's injury also jeopardizes his participation in the Spanish Super Cup final on January 11 in Saudi Arabia, where the team would face either FC Barcelona or Athletic Bilbao.
