Reichelt’s last-minute penalty extends Taguig streak to 12
One Taguig FC needed 107 minutes to maintain its ascendancy in the standings, grinding out a 1–0 escape win over 10-man Valenzuela PB-Mendiola FC in Saturday’s Philippines Football League clash at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Mendiola looked poised to secure a memorable result despite going down to ten men after goalkeeper Ali Pourallahyar was sent off in the 80th minute for two bookable offenses.
But deep into stoppage time, Patrick Reichelt stepped up and calmly converted from the spot past Jay Shaun Soberano, sealing the winner and extending Taguig’s winning streak to 12 matches.
In the other fixtures, Manila Digger FC powered to a 6–2 victory over DB Garelli United. Mustapha Jallow, David Sambou, and Modou Manneh all struck inside the opening 30 minutes to put Digger in control.
However, Yamaguchi kept Garelli within reach with a brace in the 13th and 45th minutes, narrowing the gap by halftime.
Digger pulled away in the second half, with Wamba Tahem, Ousman Gai, and Manneh adding three more goals to complete the dominant performance.
In the day’s final match, Stallion Laguna FC overwhelmed Tuloy FC in a 12–1 rout. Jaques Moukouta led the charge with five goals, while Juan Trujillo and Ricky Sendra each grabbed a brace.
Kenneth Pryde, Kouichi Belgira, and Amir Memari also found the net, while Tuloy’s lone goal came via a Cyrelle Saut penalty.
