UK Football Hit by Severe Winter: Multiple Matches Postponed, Wolves & West Ham Seek Revival in "Misery Derby".

Severe winter weather has swept across the UK, forcing the postponement of numerous football matches. In England, despite protective measures, the League Two fixture between Notts County and Gillingham was called off due to a frozen pitch, with several National League games also canceled.

In Scotland, a total of seven matches were postponed, including the Scottish Premiership clash between Dunfermline and Ross County, the Championship game between Ayr United and Queen's Park, as well as multiple League 1 and League 2 fixtures, mainly due to frozen pitches and snowfall. The Met Office has extended amber and yellow weather warnings for snow and ice.

Meanwhile, the winter transfer window for Premier League, EFL, Scottish leagues and Women’s Super League clubs opened on January 1st and will run until February 2nd, with comprehensive deal trackers available for major European men's and women's leagues.

As the transfer window gets underway, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United are mired in poor form. The two teams have claimed just three combined wins in 38 Premier League matches. West Ham, in a relegation battle, recently signed Pablo Felipe to strengthen their squad; Wolves, meanwhile, remain winless and both sides are desperate for a victory in the so-called "misery derby" to boost fan morale.
