The Bundesliga match between Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen, scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed shortly before kickoff due to weather-related structural risks concerning the stadium roof at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. The league announced the postponement less than three hours before the game was set to begin, stating the stadium had been closed for safety reasons and that the match will be rescheduled.

While this match was called off, other Bundesliga fixtures proceeded as planned. The game between Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt started on schedule, and later matches involving Borussia Dortmund vs. Werder Bremen and Mainz vs. Heidenheim were also set to go ahead.

This incident marks the third Bundesliga postponement in recent days. Two matches originally scheduled for Saturday were also postponed due to safety concerns from snow and ice in northern Germany. Those games, involving St. Pauli vs. Leipzig and Werder Bremen vs. Hoffenheim, were rescheduled for January 27.
