In goal is Kamil Grabara of Wolfsburg. Despite his team's 3-1 loss to Mainz, Grabara made five impressive saves, including a penalty, and was not at fault for the defeat.
The defense features Ridle Baku of RB Leipzig, who was active on the right flank, scored the opening goal, completed 91% of his passes with two key passes, and won five duels. Stefan Bell of Mainz delivered a rock-solid performance at centre-back, winning eight duels and scoring the winning goal. Ozan Kabak of Hoffenheim was dominant, winning 11 duels and scoring a crucial goal. Completing the back line is RB Leipzig captain David Raum, who impressed on the left flank by scoring and winning four of his five duels.
