Beermen Look to Bounce Back with Patton's Debut Against Black Knights

San Miguel is aiming to reignite its PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup campaign with the arrival of Justin Patton. The Beermen have officially activated the former NBA big man, making him eligible to play in their upcoming game against Macau on Tuesday. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with all eyes on the 7-foot-1 Patton, who will make his debut as San Miguel's new import following the release of Marcus Lee. Lee, originally chosen as the Beermen's import, had shown inconsistency, despite posting 30 points and 14 rebounds in their last game against TNT. However, his performance wasn’t enough to save him after San Miguel suffered a crushing loss to TNT last Saturday, dropping their record to 1-2. This marks the second consecutive conference where they've started with this record, prompting the team to seek a fresh start with Patton.

San Miguel will look to get back on track against the Black Knights, who are still winless at 0-4 despite the hiring of new head coach Marcus Elliott.

In the first game of the Tuesday doubleheader, Rain or Shine will take on Blackwater at 5:15 p.m., with the Bossing entering the match with newfound confidence. Blackwater snapped a long losing streak with a 97-91 victory over Magnolia, thanks to strong performances from new import Robert Upshaw III and Sedrick Barefield. Despite the win, facing Rain or Shine, the league's only unbeaten team with a 3-0 record, will be a tough challenge. The Elasto Painters have defeated Macau, Tropang 5G, and Meralco, the latter in a 109-102 win even without suspended import Jaylen Johnson. Johnson will return to the lineup, strengthening Rain or Shine's chances. The Elasto Painters are favored by 8.5 points, with an over/under of 178 points.

These Tuesday games will be the final action before the PBA breaks for Lent, with play resuming on Easter Sunday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
