Biñan-Tatak Gel Angels kept their outright semifinal hopes alive with a commanding 87-48 victory over Caloocan Lady Kankaloo on Sunday in the 2026 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (WMPBL) at the Uratex Showroom in Muntinlupa.

Coming off a tough 48-52 loss to Akari-Rizal, the Angels bounced back in dominant fashion to improve to 6-3 and take sole possession of third place.

The win also completed a head-to-head sweep of Caloocan, after Biñan had previously routed them 102-67 in the first round.

“Good win. At least we were able to run the things we practiced in this game,” said Angels head coach Jack Azcueta. “Hopefully we can get the next one too so we can enter the playoffs with high confidence.”

Biñan took control in the second quarter, outscoring Caloocan 25-12 to build a 40-22 halftime lead. The Angels then exploded in the third period with a 31-7 run, stretching the margin to as many as 42 points.

It was a complete team effort, with 10 players scoring at least four points. Justine Domingo led the way with 12 points, while Danica Pacia recorded a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds). Ria Nabalan and Eka Soriano each added 10 points. Luisa San Juan contributed nine points and seven rebounds in just 15 minutes.

Janeth Sison and Tin Capilit scored eight points each for Caloocan, which absorbed its third straight loss and dropped to 1-7.

Caloocan will next face Quezon City on Wednesday.
