Nordic United FC 4–2 Östers IF | Sweden Superettan | 9 May 2026

In a thrilling Superettan encounter at a packed home venue, Nordic United FC produced a dominant attacking display to defeat Östers IF 4–2. The result saw Nordic United climb into the upper half of the table, while Östers were left to rue defensive lapses after a promising start.

First‑Half Fireworks

The match exploded into life inside the opening quarter‑hour. Nordic United’s high press forced an early turnover, and striker Emil Lindqvist slotted home from close range to make it 1–0. Östers responded swiftly, with winger Filip Johansson cutting inside and curling a beautiful equaliser past the home goalkeeper in the 22nd minute.

Just before the half‑hour mark, Nordic United regained the lead through a well‑worked set‑piece. Midfielder Oskar Nilsson nodded in from a corner, leaving Östers goalkeeper Marcus Sörensen with no chance. The home side took a 2–1 advantage into the break.

Second‑Half Drama

Östers came out aggressively after the restart and levelled again in the 54th minute when Johan Persson tapped home a rebound after a free‑kick. However, Nordic United’s response was immediate. Just three minutes later, Lukas Berg restored the lead with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

The hosts sealed victory in the 78th minute when substitute Alexander Holm latched onto a through ball and finished coolly. Östers pushed forward in search of a third but could not find a way past a resolute Nordic United defence.

Key Standout Performer

  • Emil Lindqvist (Nordic United) – Scored the opener and provided the assist for Holm’s clincher, proving a constant menace to the Östers backline.

Match Impact

The win lifted Nordic United to fifth in the Superettan standings, just four points off the promotion playoffs. Östers, meanwhile, slipped to ninth and will need to tighten up defensively if they are to challenge for a top‑six finish.
