RCS Onhaye 0-1 RWDM Brussels: Visitors Earn Tough Away Success

RWDM Brussels left with a valuable 1-0 victory over RCS Onhaye in their Belgian First Amateur Division meeting on 6 September 2026. It was a disciplined away performance from the visitors, who produced the decisive moment in a tightly contested match and then protected their lead expertly until the final whistle.

Match Overview

The match featured two teams with contrasting objectives, but both understood the importance of securing points early in the campaign. RCS Onhaye aimed to use their home familiarity to frustrate RWDM Brussels, while the visitors were determined to impose their quality and control the tempo of the contest.

RWDM Brussels enjoyed the better of the early exchanges, moving the ball confidently and asking questions of the home defence. RCS Onhaye defended with discipline and looked to strike on the counter-attack, making the opening period a tactical battle rather than an open, end-to-end spectacle.

Decisive Breakthrough

The match’s only goal arrived when RWDM Brussels displayed a moment of quality inside the final third. After a patient build-up, the visitors carved open the RCS Onhaye backline and finished with composure to take the lead.

Falling behind forced RCS Onhaye to be more adventurous. The home side pushed forward in the second half, earning a series of set pieces and half-chances, but the RWDM Brussels defensive unit remained organised and resolute. The visitors managed the tempo well in the closing stages and limited their opponents to few genuine goal-scoring opportunities.

Post-Match Importance

This win provides RWDM Brussels with a strong foundation as they continue their campaign in the Belgian First Amateur Division. Away victories are always valuable in a competitive division, and the clean sheet will add further confidence to the squad.

RCS Onhaye were competitive for long periods and will take encouragement from their own performance, especially their work rate and organisation. However, they will know that converting pressure into goals will be essential if they are to achieve their ambition this season.
