PVL Shake-Up: Will Tsuzurabara-Reyes Duo Lift SGA to New Heights?
Japanese coach Koji Tsuzurabara has returned to the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), joining Strong Group Athletics (SGA) ahead of the 2026 All-Filipino Conference. The team announced his appointment on January 9.
Tsuzurabara previously achieved significant success in the PVL as head coach of the Petro Gazz Angels, leading them to win the 2024 PNVF Champions League and the 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference title, which was the franchise's first championship in that flagship conference.
He joins former Chery Tiggo head coach Kungfu Reyes, who will serve as an assistant coach for SGA. Their arrivals follow the team's recent coaching changes, including the departure of Italian coach Alessandro Lodi in December 2025 after he guided the team to a top-seeded finish in the Reinforced Conference.
SGA's acquisition of Tsuzurabara and Reyes is part of the team's offseason rebuilding effort, aiming to leverage their experience and tactical systems to become more competitive in the upcoming All-Filipino conference.
