After being limited to 3 points through three quarters, Perez exploded for 17 of his team-high 20 points in the fourth. With San Miguel down 89-86 in the final minute, he hit a crucial stepback four-pointer and a subsequent three-pointer to seal the win, giving the Beermen a 2-1 series lead.
Coach Austria stated that both he and Perez apologized after their altercation, acknowledging it refocused Perez and showcased his winning mentality. Perez emphasized his respect for Austria, citing the coach's championship pedigree, and stated their relationship is built on mutual respect and a shared goal to win.
June Mar Fajardo supported San Miguel with 16 points and 27 rebounds, while Don Trollano added 19 points in the winning effort.
