Real Madrid learn Franco Mastantuono suspension for Getafe red card with defensive duo also handed yellow card bans

The most significant sanction is a two-match ban for Argentine star Franco Mastantuono. He received a direct red card for arguing with the referee, a dismissal the club appealed. The committee rejected the appeal, upholding the ban for "attitudes of contempt or disregard towards the referees," which rules Mastantuono out of important matches and deprives the team of a creative attacker.

Additionally, the club's appeal to overturn a YellowCard shown to midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni was also rejected. Real Madrid argued the booking was unjust as Tchouaméni played the ball first, but the committee upheld the decision after reviewing video evidence. Fortunately, this yellow card does not trigger an immediate suspension.

The defensive line is hardest hit, with two players suspended for accumulation of yellow cards. Both Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras received one-match bans after reaching the booking limit, automatically ruling them out of the next match. This creates a major selection crisis in defense for Arbeloa.

The timing of these suspensions is poor as Real Madrid faces a difficult away match. With Carreras and Huijsen out, plus Mastantuono banned, Arbeloa must reorganize his defense and attack.
