Veteran Setter Departs: Creamline Cool Smashers Announce Rhea Dimaculangan-Villarete's Exit.

The Creamline Cool Smashers, the 10-time champions of the Philippine Volleyball League (PVL), officially announced on January 7 that veteran setter Rhea Dimaculangan-Villarete has parted ways with the club, bringing an end to her short but steady spell with the team during the 2025 season.

The club took to social media to express its gratitude, hailing the 34-year-old athlete for the leadership, composure under pressure and invaluable experience she brought to the squad. Dimaculangan-Villarete initially joined the team ahead of the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship (AVC) with the aim of strengthening the lineup depth and tournament experience at the setter position.

During her contract period that ran until the end of the year, Dimaculangan-Villarete competed in both the Reinforced and Invitational Conferences of the PVL. Serving as the backup to starting setter Kyle Negrito, she leveraged her seasoned game management skills to efficiently organize the team's offensive system on multiple occasions when called upon from the bench, emerging as a reliable "impact substitute" in the squad.

Her departure is part of the Creamline Cool Smashers' offseason roster revamp as the team gears up for the upcoming All-Filipino Conference. Besides Dimaculangan-Villarete, players including Michelle Morente, Pau Soriano, Rizza Mandapat and Mafe Galanza have also left the club during the offseason.
