PVL: Cignal sweeps erstwhile unbeaten PLDT to claim solo top spot in All-Filipino Conference

Cignal secured a straight-sets victory over PLDT (25-21, 25-19, 25-23) in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, moving to a solo top spot with a 4-1 record and handing PLDT its first loss, dropping them to 3-1.

After building a 16-11 lead in the third set, Cignal committed several errors, allowing PLDT to mount a 6-0 run and take a 17-16 lead. Cignal regained control with a 4-0 counter-run, fueled by two kills from Erika Santos and an ace from Gel Cayuna, to re-establish a 20-17 cushion. Santos and PLDT's Kim Kianna Dy exchanged attacks late, but Cignal held steadier, with Cayuna sealing the match with a dump.

Erika Santos led Cignal with 17 points, supported by Vanie Gandler's 14 points and eight receptions. Gel Cayuna had an all-around performance with nine points and 18 excellent sets.

In the earlier match, Akari ended a three-game losing streak with a 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22 win over Nxled. Ivy Lacsina led with a double-double of 20 points and 10 receptions, while Ced Domingo and Eli Soyud added 17 and 13 points, respectively. Grethcel Soltones recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 14 digs, and 10 receptions. The loss was the second consecutive defeat for Nxled after starting the season 3-0.
