The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) are considering a plan to allow the Alas Pilipinas women's national team to participate in the PVL's upcoming rookie draft. The objective is for the national team to build its own dedicated player pool, reducing its reliance on current professional players from PVL clubs.

Under this proposal, Alas Pilipinas coach Tai Bundit would select players directly from the draft. Those chosen would form a national team pool focused exclusively on international duties for two years, with their salaries paid by the PNVF instead of club teams. PNVF President Tonyboy Liao explained that if Alas picks 12 players from a draft pool of 40 applicants, PVL clubs would then draft from the remaining 28 players. The 12 national team selections would be ineligible to sign with any club during their commitment.

Liao stated that he has discussed the plan with six of the ten PVL teams and anticipates approval from the remaining four, believing they will support it for the benefit of both the league and the national team. He indicated that if approved, the current Alas Pilipinas lineup, which includes PVL players, will compete in two final tournaments: the AVC Women's Cup in June and the upcoming Southeast Asian V.League. After that, the new system would take effect, meaning PVL players would generally no longer be part of the national team unless individual players not renewing their club contracts choose to join Alas.
