Player Ratings: Real Madrid 0 - 1 Getafe
Thibaut Courtois made only two saves in the match, with the conceded goal not being his fault. Trent Alexander-Arnold had an uncharacteristically sloppy performance, frequently giving the ball away and failing to find his usual rhythm. Antonio Rüdiger made nine clearances and important interventions but had a chaotic display and was fortunate not to receive a red card in the first half for a reckless challenge.
David Alaba hesitated on Getafe's goal, failing to close down Martin Satriano quickly enough. Alvaro Carreras performed slightly better than the rest of the defensive line, defending well and making intelligent forward runs. Aurélien Tchouaméni was strong in the air and solid in ball recovery, but his distribution lacked sharpness, and he appeared the most likely Madrid player to score.
Thiago Pitarch was one of Madrid's brightest performers, showing calmness, energy, and progression, and should have had an assist after setting up Vinícius. Fede Valverde was reliable as ever, covering ground, carrying the ball, and giving his all physically. Arda Güler tried to play vertically and delivered good set pieces but did not significantly impact the game.
Vinícius Jr. had a mixed performance, completing seven dribbles but missing a breakaway and losing possession 25 times. Gonzalo García struggled to find space against Getafe's compact defense and never got into the game. Dean Huijsen was poor in possession off the bench, with erratic passing that hindered Madrid's momentum.
Dani Carvajal produced two excellent defensive actions but should have done better with a point-blank opportunity. Rodrygo Goes worked hard in limited space and should have had an assist after setting up Carvajal. Franco Mastantuono was largely ineffective and was sent off late for dissent, compounding a frustrating cameo. Brahim Díaz had too little time on the pitch to warrant a rating.
