PBA: TNT breaks through in Commissioner's Cup at the expense of NLEX
TNT secured a 103-97 victory over NLEX in the PBACommissioner'sCup on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. The win marked TNT's first of the tournament, improving their record to 1-1, while NLEX fell to 2-1.
The game concluded dramatically in the final seconds. With TNTLeading99-93 and only eight ticks remaining, NLEX's Robert Bolick hit a four-pointer to close the gap to two points. However, the shot was accompanied by a Flagrant 1 foul called on Bolick for an apparent knee to the head of TNT's Calvin Oftana. Oftana made his ensuing free throws, and teammate Schonny Winston added another to seal the 103-97 win for TNT.
Bol Bol was the standout performer for TNT, posting a dominant stat line of 40 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks. He was supported by Jordan Heading with 15 points, while Calvin Oftana and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser each contributed 14 points.
For NLEX, import Cady Lalanne recorded a double-double with 25 points and 21 rebounds. Robert Bolick tallied 21 points and 9 assists, and both Schonny Winston and Anthony Semerad added 18 points each in the losing effort.
