PBA: Jonnel Policarpio joins Converge, Javee Mocon now with Meralco in three-team trade
In a three-team trade involving NLEX, Converge, and Meralco ahead of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup, NLEX traded Jonnel Policarpio and Javee Mocon to Converge in exchange for Deschon Winston and Kevin Racal.
Converge then immediately traded the newly acquired Javee Mocon to Meralco, receiving sophomore guard Kurt Reyson and a Season 52 second-round draft pick in return.
In a separate transaction, Converge traded Tony Ynot to the Phoenix Fuel Masters in exchange for guard James Kwekuteye, aiming to add depth to its backcourt.
As a result of these moves, Converge has acquired a trio of players: Kurt Reyson, Jonnel Policarpio, and James Kwekuteye, as the team seeks to improve after a quarterfinal exit in the previous Philippine Cup.
Tony Ynot, sent to Phoenix, will reunite with his former college coach, Charles Tiu, and join fellow former De La Salle-College of St. Benilde star Will Gozum on the team.
