Rain or Shine defeated Meralco 109-102 in the PBACommissioner’sCup on Friday, securing their third consecutive victory despite the absence of suspended import Jaylen Johnson. The Elasto Painters held a 51-44 halftime lead, but Meralco narrowed the gap to 78-76 by the end of the third quarter.

In a tight fourth quarter, MeralcoClosed to within one point at 95-94 before Luis Villegas hit a three-pointer to spark a decisive 11-0 run for Rain or Shine. Felix Lemetti contributed six straight points during that run, and Jhonard Clarito added a basket to help secure the win. Lemetti later made a free throw to seal the final score.

HeadCoachYeng Guiao dedicated the team's effort to the suspended Johnson and suggested that Rain or Shine caught Meralco on an off day, benefiting from a psychological edge as the underdog. He credited his team's toughness and hard play for the victory.

FelixLemetti led Rain or Shine with 23 points, while Adrian Nocum, Caelan Tiongson, and Jhonard Clarito scored 17, 16, and 15 points respectively. For Meralco, Chris Newsome scored a game-high 29 points, and import Marvin Jones had 17 points and 16 rebounds. The loss was Meralco's first after two wins to open the conference.
