On February 28, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Denver Nuggets 127-121 in overtime at home after completing a dramatic comeback.

Guard Jared McCain continued his outstanding form since joining the Thunder, coming off the bench to play 19 minutes. He shot 6-of-8 from the field to finish with 14 efficient points, while hitting two critical three-pointers in the fourth quarter to spark the Thunder’s rally.

In his 9 games with the Thunder, McCain is averaging 11.9 points, 3.1 rebounds in 13.9 minutes per game, with an elite three-point shooting percentage of 45.9%.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who returned to score 36 points and dish out 9 assists, heaped praise on McCain after the game.

“Jared has been playing at a really high level,” SGA said. “His scoring kept us in the game and gave us a chance to come back. As he gets more comfortable with our system, he’s only going to get better. He’s extremely talented.”

For his part, McCain – playing alongside SGA for the first time since arriving in OKC – said: “There’s a reason Shai is an MVP candidate. Being able to play with him and see everything he does up close has been incredible.”
