Luka’s Wild Streetball-Style Three Wows Lakers Bench
On March 2, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings 128–104 at home. With under four minutes left in the third quarter, Luka Dončić was tightly guarded by Kings player Ploudan. He first tried to drive past his defender, then stepped back for a three-pointer just as the defender lost balance. Slipping slightly due to momentum, he nearly lost control but kept firm possession of the ball. He dribbled back behind the three-point line, then knocked down a highly difficult, off-balance three-pointer through heavy contact. When asked about the shot after the game, Dončić joked: “I did it on purpose. Streetball move? That’s what the bench was saying, anyway.” “Coach K used to love the word ‘fearless,’” Redick said of Dončić’s wild performance. “There’s a fearlessness to Luka’s game, and that’s one of the many things that makes him so special.”
