June Mar Fajardo moves up to 3rd all-time in rebounding list
San Miguel Beer star center June Mar Fajardo achieved multiple significant milestones during his team's PBA Philippine Cup championship victory. He secured his 12th league title and was awarded a record fifth PBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, which has been renamed after legend Ramon Fernandez.
During Game 6 against TNT, which San Miguel won 92-77 to clinch the series 4-2, Fajardo also moved into third place on the PBA's all-time rebounding list. He surpassed Jerry Codinera by grabbing his 7,035th rebound and finished the championship with a total of 7,040 rebounds, placing him behind only Ramon Fernandez (8,652) and Abet Guidaben (8,570).
In a humble post-game speech, Fajardo expressed gratitude to God, his teammates, coaches, and management for their support throughout his career, which began when he was drafted first overall in 2012. He highlighted the honor of winning the championship and the Finals MVP award, which was personally handed to him by Ramon Fernandez.
