Foxies Make History with First-Ever Semifinal Berth
Farm Fresh delivered a dominant performance in the play-in final of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, sweeping Nxled 25-17, 25-20, 25-19 on Tuesday at the Filoil Centre to clinch the franchise's inaugural semifinal appearance.
After a tough loss to PLDT in the qualifying round, the Foxies bounced back in impressive fashion, securing their spot in the upcoming round-robin semifinals alongside the High Speed Hitters and Cignal. This marks a significant achievement for Farm Fresh, which joined the league only in 2023.
“It was a great game today. Thank you to the Nxled team. My players performed exceptionally well. This is our first time in the semifinals, and it's a new experience for everyone,” said head coach Koji Tsuzurabara. “We’re not sure what to expect next, but we’ll continue to fight as challengers and give our best effort. We’re here to make new history for Farm Fresh, and I’m truly grateful to the Nxled team.”
Alohi Robins-Hardy set the tone with 16 excellent sets and five points, leading a balanced offensive attack that kept Nxled off balance throughout the match. Trisha Tubu paced the Foxies’ scoring with 12 points, including 10 attacks and two block kills, while Ces Molina contributed 10 points and 11 excellent receptions.
Ara Galang had her best showing in a Farm Fresh uniform, recording nine points and six excellent receptions. Riri Meneses and Royse Tubino added seven and five points, respectively. Defensively, liberos Bia General and Maicah Larroza each posted 11 excellent digs.
Nxled fought back in the third set, briefly taking a 8-6 lead at the first technical timeout. However, Farm Fresh responded with a decisive 10-1 run, with Tubu scoring the match-winning point to close out both the set and the game.
The semifinals will begin Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Nxled, which revamped its roster with key players from defending champion Petro Gazz, saw its season end after falling in the final play-in round.
Brooke Van Sickle led Nxled with 13 points and 11 excellent receptions, while MJ Phillips contributed 11 points, including nine attacks and two block kills. Myla Pablo finished with nine points before being forced to leave in the third set due to a left ankle sprain. Bang Pineda excelled defensively with 14 excellent digs and 15 receptions.
