Clutch Sheppard Takes Over Late, Rockets Hold Off Magic

Shepherd put on an outstanding performance in this game, finishing with 20 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. He also scored 11 consecutive points by himself in the third quarter during the Rockets’ comeback run. He stayed on the floor for the Rockets in the critical fourth-quarter moments.

“He earned it,” coach Ime Udoka said after the game. “He played really well on both ends of the floor. Even though the opponents made some shots, his defense was solid. Even when we had him switch onto Bane, he held his ground, disrupted the play, and did a great job.”
