Arsenal missed an opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford. Following Manchester City's win earlier in the week, Arsenal's lead had been reduced to three points, and they could only manage to increase it by one point after this result.

The first half saw Arsenal fail to register a shot on target, with Brentford creating the best chance when David Raya made an excellent save to deny Igor Thiago's header. Arsenal introduced captain Martin Odegaard at halftime, which improved their performance.

Arsenal took the lead in the second half with their first shot on target, as Noni Madueke headed home from Piero Hincapie's cross. However, Brentford responded positively, and Keane Lewis-Potter eventually equalized from a long throw-in situation. Igor Thiago later missed significant chances to win the game for Brentford.
