Phong Phu Ha Nam Women produced a composed away performance to secure a 2-0 victory over Than KSVN Women in the Women's National League, continuing their strong start to the campaign. The match, played on 3 August 2026, saw the visitors control long spells of play and convert their chances with efficiency, while the home side struggled to break down a well-organised defence.

Match Overview

From the opening minutes, Phong Phu Ha Nam Women looked the more confident side. Their midfield dictated the tempo, moving the ball quickly between the lines and forcing Than KSVN Women into defensive work. The home team, by contrast, relied on sporadic counter-attacks and long balls toward their forward line, but the visitors' backline remained alert throughout.

The breakthrough arrived before the interval. A well-worked move down the left flank saw Phong Phu Ha Nam Women's winger cut inside and deliver a low cross, which was turned in from close range to make it 1-0. The goal lifted the away side, who continued to push forward without overcommitting. Just after the hour mark, they doubled their lead with a clinical finish from the edge of the box, leaving the Than KSVN goalkeeper with little chance.

Key Moments

• First-half opener: Phong Phu Ha Nam Women capitalised on a defensive lapse, finishing neatly from six yards after a dangerous delivery.
• Decisive second goal: A well-struck effort from outside the penalty area sealed the points for the visitors.
• Late resistance: Than KSVN Women pushed forward in the closing stages, forcing a few corners, but the away defence held firm to keep a clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Phong Phu Ha Nam Women set up in a compact 4-4-2 shape, prioritising width in attack and discipline without the ball. Their full-backs were encouraged to overlap, creating numerical superiority in wide areas. This stretched the Than KSVN Women midfield and created openings behind the home side's advanced wingers.

Than KSVN Women attempted to respond with a more direct approach, but their lack of cohesion in the final third meant they rarely tested the visitors' goalkeeper. The home side's midfield often found themselves bypassed, and their strikers were left isolated. In the second half, they switched to a three-man defence to gain extra width, but by then the damage had been done with Phong Phu Ha Nam holding a comfortable lead.

Standout Players

For the visitors, the central midfield duo were outstanding, controlling the pace of the game and breaking up opposition attacks. The left winger who provided the opening goal also impressed with constant movement and measured deliveries. For Than KSVN Women, the goalkeeper made several smart saves to keep the score respectable, while the right-back worked tirelessly to limit the damage down her flank.

League Impact

The away win gives Phong Phu Ha Nam Women valuable momentum in the national league table, strengthening their push toward the upper reaches of the standings. It also extends their unbeaten run in recent fixtures, a sign of their growing consistency this season. For Than KSVN Women, the defeat marks a setback as they look to climb away from the lower half of the table. They will need to address their scoring struggles, having now gone consecutive league matches without finding the net.

With the season still in swing, results like these could prove decisive in the race for title contention and continental qualification. Phong Phu Ha Nam Women will take confidence from this clean-sheet victory, while Than KSVN Women will hope to bounce back quickly when the Women's National League resumes.
