Team Info
The Timor-Leste Under-23 national football team, also known as the Timor-Leste Olympic team, represents the Southeast Asian nation in youth international football. They compete in qualifying tournaments for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup and the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Managed by the Federação de Futebol de Timor-Leste, the team often trains and plays at the National Stadium in Dili. As one of the newer and less resourced footballing nations in Asia, the U-23 side faces significant challenges against more established opponents. Their history is marked by a struggle for competitive results, but also by moments of immense pride, such as scoring historic goals in qualification. The current squad draws from domestic Timorese clubs and a small diaspora of players based in Portugal or Indonesia. The team plays with notable heart and determination, representing a young nation with a deep passion for football. Their journey is about gradual development and gaining experience, with the hope of one day causing an upset and inspiring future generations in Timor-Leste.
