Team Info

St. Gilloise B is the reserve team of the historic Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, competing in the Belgian First Amateur Division. Based in Brussels, the team plays its home matches at the club's academy facilities or smaller stadiums, serving as a crucial bridge between the youth setup and the prolific first team that has recently challenged for the Belgian Pro League title. The reserve side wears the iconic yellow and blue of the parent club. The team's core purpose is player development, giving promising talents and players returning from injury a platform for competitive men's football. Founded as part of the club's restructuring upon its return to prominence, the B team's history is intrinsically linked to the first team's revival. Its key era is ongoing, as it successfully prepares players like Loïc Lapoussin and others who have stepped up to become key figures for the senior side. In the current season, St. Gilloise B competes robustly in the third tier, emphasizing a possession-based and pressing style identical to the first team's successful model. The team culture is professional and demanding, focused on individual growth within a collective framework. While they have a smaller following, their success is tracked closely by fans invested in the club's future. In summary, St. Gilloise B is an expertly run reserve team that is fundamental to the sustained success of one of Belgium's most compelling football stories.
