Team Info

Nîmes Olympique is a French football club with a rich history, currently navigating the Championnat National 2, the fourth tier of French football. Based in the southern city of Nîmes, the team's iconic home is the Stade des Costières. Founded in 1937, the club is famously nicknamed *Les Crocodiles*, a reference to the city's Roman emblem, and their colors are red and white. Nîmes boasts a storied past, having been a mainstay in the top flight during the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, even finishing as Ligue 1 runners-up on four occasions. That golden era featured legendary players like goalkeeper Georges Carnus. After a long decline, the club experienced a modern renaissance, earning promotion back to Ligue 1 in 2018 after a 25-year absence, a period marked by an exciting, attacking style of play. Recent financial difficulties led to relegations, landing them in National 2. The current squad is in a rebuilding phase, aiming to climb back up the pyramid. The supporters, known for their passionate and vocal presence, create an intimidating atmosphere at the Costières. Nîmes remains a club of significant heritage striving to reclaim its place among France's elite.
