Team Info
Newport County Association Football Club is a professional Welsh club playing in the English football system, currently in EFL League Two. Based in Newport, South Wales, they play at Rodney Parade, a shared ground with rugby teams. Founded in 1912, the club's colors are amber and black. Newport's history is a rollercoaster, including financial collapse and reformation in 1989. Their peak modern era has been under manager Michael Flynn, with famous FA Cup runs beating Leeds United and taking Tottenham Hotspur to a replay, and a dramatic promotion back to the Football League in 2013 via the Conference play-off final. The Exiles are now a stable League Two club known for their cup heroics and a never-say-die attitude. Their fan base is famously vocal, and Rodney Parade is a difficult venue for visitors. Newport County's story is one of remarkable survival and revival, proudly representing their city in the English league.
