Team Info

Liverpool U21 is the flagship youth team of Liverpool Football Club, operating as the final step before the first team in the club's world-renowned academy structure. Based at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, the team competes in the Premier League 2, Division 1, the top tier of English under-21 football, as well as the EFL Trophy and the Premier League International Cup. The squad is a mix of the most talented teenagers from the club's own academy and shrewd signings from across the globe, all being groomed in the intense, high-pressing tactical philosophy synonymous with manager Jurgen Klopp's senior side. Historically, Liverpool's academy has produced legends like Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, and the current U21 setup aims to continue that legacy. Players like Trent Alexander-Arnold have recently made the direct jump from the youth ranks to global stardom. Coached by highly-rated staff, the U21s play their home games at the club's academy grounds, with their progress monitored closely by a global fanbase eager to see the next homegrown hero emerge for the Reds.
