Team Info
Galicia EC is a Brazilian football club based in Salvador, Bahia, currently competing in the Campeonato Baiano Série B, the second division of the Bahia state championship. The club's home matches are played at the Estádio de Pituaçu. Founded by the Spanish community in Bahia, the name "Galicia" pays homage to the region in Spain, creating a unique cultural identity within Brazilian football. The team's colors are sky blue and white. Galicia EC has a long but modest history, primarily oscillating between the first and second tiers of the state league. The club's peak era saw it achieve promotion to the top-flight Campeonato Baiano on several occasions, where it would compete against traditional rivals like Bahia and Vitória. In the modern era, the club focuses on consolidating its position in the Série B and building towards another promotion challenge. The squad often features a mix of experienced Bahian league players and promising youngsters. The fan base, while not massive, is loyal and nostalgic for the club's historic moments. Galicia EC remains a club with a distinctive heritage in Bahian football.
