Team Info
Desportiva Ferroviária, often simply called Desportiva, is one of the most traditional and popular football clubs in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Based in Cariacica, they compete in the Campeonato Capixaba. The club was founded in 1963 by railway workers, which is reflected in its name and iconic red and white colors. Their home is the legendary Estádio Engenheiro Araripe. Desportiva's peak era came in the 1970s and 80s when they were a regular participant in the national Série A and produced players who went on to great success. They are the state's most crowned champion. In the modern era, the club has faced financial challenges but remains a giant in the state, with a massive and passionate fan base known as "Trem da Vitória" (Victory Train). The club's history is a fundamental part of Espírito Santo's sporting culture.
