Team Info
The Armenia national football team, known as Հավաքական (Havakakan), represents the Republic of Armenia in international football under the auspices of the Football Federation of Armenia. The team plays its home matches at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan and the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium. Wearing the national colors of red, blue, and orange, the team has been a member of UEFA since 1992. Armenia's football history as an independent nation began after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The team's peak era was undoubtedly under manager Vardan Minasyan and with the generation led by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, during which they achieved a highest-ever FIFA ranking of 30th in 2014 and came close to qualifying for major tournaments. The modern era is in a transitional phase, building around a new generation of players after the retirement of iconic figures. The team culture is one of passionate national pride, with a technical style of play. Supported fervently by a global diaspora, the Armenia national team carries the hopes of a nation on the pitch.
